Charbel’s biggest achievements
- Charbel is a survivor. It's made him fearless and brought him to where he is today. He has learned a lot through his non-profit work with vulnerable young people.
He's been there himself and knows how hard that life can be. He also knows that a change can be made and he himself is a living example of this.
Han har varit där själv och vet hur hårt det livet kan vara. Han vet också att det går att göra förändringar och han är själv ett levande exempel på detta. - He has the ability to ask uncomfortable and unexpected questions that make those who meet him more motivated, solution-focused and ready to take in knowledge. It's a wake up call to hear about his life journey, and why there are cultural clashes. It creates a will to change.
He takes those he meets on a journey in reality where they realise that life can look so very different to different people. He catches other people's eye when he asks his questions, and he has made lots of people start thinking about what they can contribute to becoming truly inclusive.
He offers an intense experience when he gives his talks, and he leaves everyone moved. Charbel's sense of drama, his understanding and respect for the lack of knowledge in others and his pedagogical nature have earned him many awards.
He also gets the reactions he's looking for, reactions that are so necessary to make the world a more inclusive place.
Charbel’s beliefs
- A 'hello' can save a life - if not yours, then that of the person who's passing by you.
- Think of each meeting as if it's the last. Be loving, inclusive and affirming - always.
- We have our own answers but not our own questions. Get help from someone who asks them and elicits answers from you.

About Charbel
Charbel spends his days getting us to start discussing integration issues and taking them seriously. He takes the drama out of cultural encounters between people by shaking things up, asking important questions and, in an educational way, helping us understand and take action.
He gets those who are only at the beginning of the integration journey to take the necessary steps. For those who have already taken a few steps, he enables them to intensify their efforts. He helps us understand why cultural clashes occur and what happens when we open up, put our prejudices aside and welcome each other’s differences.
Charbel knows what it’s like to be an immigrant and his life story begins with fleeing Syria when he was just four years old. While growing up in Sweden he ended up in the wrong crowd and things weren’t easy for him.
Thanks to football and the generosity of his fellow human beings, he managed to turn disadvantages into strengths. Today he’s a sociable, confident person and an award winning speaker. He’s a man of contrasts who can go from being on stage in front of a large audience to moments later having motivational conversations with vulnerable young people.
With his delicate balance of humour and deep seriousness, he shares his experiences and dares to ask the questions that shake us to the core. If anyone has respect for the uncertainty surrounding integration issues, it’s Charbel.
In a conversation with him, you get the opportunity to ask all your questions without filters, and he provides the tools for reflection and strategic planning. These meetings often lead to a greater sense of humility and a clearer commitment and direction in these issues.
Charbel meets many business leaders who are missing out on fantastic opportunities by not taking integration issues seriously. This might be caused by their way of communicating, who they dare to hire or that they miss out on new customer bases.
Working with integration issues is not a quick fix, but a meeting with Charbel can give you a much-needed kick-start. He offers a soul-shaking experience when he takes us into his world. He gets us to react.
